A Love Letter to Our Privates

From time to time, we receive communications from our customers that stand out. Below is one of said communications.

Good afternoon Gents!

I am writing to express my gratitude for drastically altering my existence…

When Chastity (that is the name that I gave to my mustard yellow ODT Privates) first crossed paths just a mere 4 months ago I immediately knew that it was love.
We started out pretty fast, as most young couples do. But as the days, weeks, and months have passed our love has not faded, not even a little bit…

Is it because she has the ability to whisper the sweet nothings into my ears as if I am listening to “Smooth Operator” by Sade? Maybe it is because she knows how to turn the mood up with a little Barry White…
Or is it because at the very next moment she can vibrate my teeth out of my mouth and melt my brain through my ears with that bASS???

Although these are very valid points I have done some very serious soul searching in the past 24 hours and I believe that I have found what the driving force is behind this whole crazy love affair I am having is!!!

It’s that I have complete freedom… if I want to rock my shit out to some “Saturday Night Fever” with nothing on but my roller skates and knee socks, well guess what… I can!!!

I have stepped into the world of wireless… and needless to say, I am NEVER going back!!!

Which brings me to the culmination of this letter.
The next time you guys create another pair of FUCKING AWESOME headphones maybe you will consider calling them the ODT N.S.A. (No Strings Attached)

“introducing the latest and greatest by ODT: Get naked with us today without feeling awkward about it tomorrow, because with us, it’s always No Strings Attached…”

The guilt free headphones

I never got a chance to really thank you guys back in December for these so thanks again, these head phones are amazing!!!
Always and forever,

Truly an amazing note from this gentleman. Words, thoughts, and reasoning escape me at the moment. I can only hope that you will be able to recover more easily and completely than I have. Maybe this will help:

If you’re not already familiar with Outdoor Tech®, we think you probably should be. It is one of the fastest growing brands in America and has been busy at work making Stuff You Probably Want®, which means your audience probably wants to hear about it, too! The brand is represented at REI, Sports Authority, Nordstrom, Quicksilver and West Marine to name a few of its 2,000 North American doors; so while it is a relative newbie to the CE game, people seem to be into it. We have several new releases for CES that we’re stoked to share with you. Please see below and reach out anytime with questions or requests.

Topping the 2015 new product list, Outdoor Tech’s brand new 3-in-1 Buckshot Pro (SRP $79.95) functions as a portable rugged speaker that has a passive bass port for bigger sound, a 2600mAh powerbank for charging devices, and a flashlight with three different settings (torch, lamp and strobe). Point the speaker end towards you when you fasten the Buckshot Pro to your bike handlebars using the included rubber mount strap, and add the flashlight accessory to the other end for dawn and dusk rides. You can also use the end with the USB output as a portable powerbank. And it features a built-in mic for hands free calls.

And last but certainly not least, Outdoor Tech’s CHIPS® and Wired CHIPS®, famous for their performance and universal compatibility in snow helmets, can now come off the mountain into every day life with the addition of a new universal K-Roo Pouch that attaches onto almost any bike or skate helmet with a V-strap; a headphone Exoskeleton and a CHIPS® Headwear line that includes two beanie styles and a headband. Drop either CHIPS® (wired or wireless) into any of the CHIPS® All-In-One Headphone Accessories (SRPs ranging from $19.95 – $29.95), and take your tunes and mobile calls to the streets, skate parks, trails and anywhere life leads. The patented control interface of the CHIPS® changes tracks, plays/pauses music, takes calls and activates voice command with glove-friendly (if needed) buttons, without having to remove your phone from your pocket – ever. Support Jack’s Jiants at JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes with Outdoor Tech®

Support Jack’s Jiants at JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes with Outdoor Tech®

Los Angeles, CA (November 4, 2014) – Even though Jack has had Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) for 3 years, he looks like a normal 5-year-old boy on the outside. He is adorable, silly, spastic and into everything. But what’s really going on in his life is anything but normal. His reality includes pokes, prods, sight infections, hospital stays, missed play dates, tears and emotional turmoil that no child should ever have to endure. It has been a life changer for the entire family, including Jack’s twin sister who does not have T1D.

That’s where JDRF comes in as the leading global organization funding T1D research. With JDRF Walks to Cure Diabetes taking place across the nation, coming up on November 9, 2014 is the JDRF Walk at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, CA in which Jack’s team “Jack’s Jiants” will be walking for the 4th year in a row. They are the largest walk team for this location, as well as the highest fundraising team. Jack’s mother Danielle LaBriola says, “Jack has told me on numerous occasions that one of the ONLY good things about having diabetes is the walk. He feels the support and actually feels like a hero for a day.”

In support of Jack’s Jiants, Outdoor Tech® has created a special t-shirt for adults that is available for purchase here for $24.00. 100% of all profits from this shirt will be donated to Jack’s JDRF Fund. In addition, Outdoor Tech® partner Rob Caulfield was personally moved by Jack’s story and has committed to match the first $5000 in contributions to support such a great cause. If you prefer to simply donate to Jack’s team and/or join the walk in Anaheim with him, please click here. By doing any of these things, you are directly helping Jack and the millions of other kids who are struggling every day to live their lives with this disease. These donations are so important because without funding there simply will be no cure.

About JDRF
JDRF is the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. JDRF’s goal is to progressively remove the impact of T1D from people’s lives until we achieve a world without T1D. JDRF collaborates with a wide spectrum of partners and is the only organization with the scientific resources, regulatory influence, and a working plan to better treat, prevent and eventually cure T1D. Ashley B. & Her Privates!

1) Name?Ashley-b-bluetooth-headphones | Outdoor Tech

My name’s Ashley B.

2) Hometown?

I’m in Hermosa Beach, Calif.

3) So, what were you looking to pick up?

I needed some wireless headphones, so I went with Outdoor Tech’s Privates.

4) What’s your favorite thing about Outdoor Tech’s Privates Wireless Headphones?

Well, I needed some Bluetooth headphones for working outside on my computer (I love to hang out in the park or in my backyard and do work), and these work great for that. I can also wear the Privates without having to worry about plugging them in. I don’t have to worry about pulling my laptop off the desk when I turn around too fast anymore—that’s happened to me before and it’s a real bummer. Oh, and the microphone feature lets me take my calls. It’s super easy. All in all, the price point was great and the portability is tough to beat. I’m pretty happy with ‘em.

5) Very cool! Is there anything else you like about the headphones?
Ashley-b-bluetooth-headphones | Outdoor Tech
Since Privates are wireless headphones, they’re perfect for when I’m studying on the couch and listening to some music, and if I need to get up and go get something, there isn’t a wire or anything to get caught up or tangled. They’re also great for when I need to switch things up and I decide to do some studying or work in my backyard or elsewhere outside. The sound quality is totally stellar, and I can also pair the headphones with my television or my computer too if my boyfriend needs to sleep. He’s a pretty light sleeper, so these headphones help out a lot at home!
6) So, when you’re jamming out with these headphones, what kind of music are you listening to?

I like calm tunes. Stuff to keep me mellow throughout the day. I definitely love Bon Iver and Passion Pit.

The Beer Marathon at Outdoor Retailer 2014

Some people think trade shows are boring. Those people probably don’t come by the Outdoor Tech® booth. Not only do we have all kinds of rad stuff like bluetooth speakers, headphones, earbuds and other wireless audio devices; we have fun. A lot of fun.

For example, we went to Outdoor Retailer this year and held our first Beer Marathon. It’s pretty simple, you consume 26.2 ounces of beer in the fastest time and you win a prize. Keep in mind, you are going head to head with an opponent. #exciting

Outdoor Retailer Beer Marathon

You can’t blame us if you didn’t go. We got the word out everywhere. You probably want to make sure you follow us on Instagram and Twitter. We for sure let everyone know what we are up to.

Beer Marathon Card

So what is the Beer Marathon?

Step 1: Beer Pong – Sink one and pond it.

Step 2: Quarters – Sink one and pound it.

Step 3: Beer Bong – Take that funnel full of beer to your domepiece.

Since you are going head to head with someone, the person that completes the Beer Marathon first, wins some #stuffyouprobablywant from Outdoor Tech®. It may sound a little confusing but Charlie explained the rules before every match.

Charlie's In Charge

Obviously, this is exciting. You may be knocking stuff over just reading this, calm down. Seriously, count to 5 and breathe.

Check this video to see the rules and an example of some overexcitement.

Maybe it’s the pumping music from the Big Turtle Shell® that got Buck all giddy. I don’t know but pull yourself together man, we are trying to conduct some business here.

Wireless Speakers

Okay, okay, you want to see a real match? Watch this video and enjoy.

Hey, it’s not just a guy thing. Girls can compete too. #CrossingGenderBoundries I honestly think this event will be featured on Drunk History sometime in the distant future as a defining moment in equality. Watch this battle between two ladies.

After a few hours of head to head competition, the final results are….

Beer Marathon Final Results

Listen, if drinking isn’t your thing, that’s cool. You can still hang out. Our booth isn’t always super crowded with people. Here is a pic taken early one morning. It’s from that 30 minutes of calm right after they open the doors. But after that 30 minutes or so, yea.. it always gets super crowded with people learning about our brand and how rad our products are.

The Calm Before the Storm at Outdoor Retailer

All videos were shot on a GoPro, damn those cameras are pretty rad. Did you notice that the GoPro booth was across from ours? It looked like they were having a lot of fun watching all the commotion in our booth.

Go ahead and leave a comment to let us know which video was your favorite or just share this with 20 of you favorite bestie’s.

Agenda Long Beach 2014

We went to Agenda in Long Beach again. We have a booth every year and it’s always a good time. Luckily we had Ryan Hackbarth with us this time to take these photos.

What is not shown is how we ended up on someone’s boat in Shoreline village. Nothing special, just drank some beers and discussed business stuff. So exciting.

See you next year Agenda.
